I'm interested in MX-P and want to see if it fits me.
But don't want to spend full price unless I like it.
Anyone have a sheet they no longer want?
As long as its pretty decent. Red or black.
Looking to spend about $20
I live in US.

I can't really stop you from EJ-ing, but: are you sure you can handle it? It's pretty much a T05 equivalent, and that's not something typically recommended to ~1000 level players (you are around that, based on recent thread about your first tournament).

May be if you start going to the club, you'll get a chance to try other people' paddles and get a feel for equipment options that way?

P.S. In the end it's your hobby and your money. Just a thought.

Yeah pgpg. You're right. I just wanted a cheap one to try out, but borrowing is cheapest.

I've used a fair variety of rubbers including: -
from the Chinese stable 729 Batwings, Galaxy Jupiter, Venus, Mars, 868, LKT XP Pro, Whale - generally slower, harder and sometimes not that good to loop with as they take a fair effort.
Euro non-tensors: Mark V, Magic Carbon, Yasaka Original Extra - These rubbers tend to be able to do it all, but just a bit slower than the category below. I'd also put Mars 2 in this category.
Euro tensors: Baracuda, Hexer, Bluefire JP02, Victas V01, Xiom Vega Europe DF - faster and spinnier than those above but still controllable on a sensible ALL+ blade.

...and then there's MX-P. I found it really bouncy and really difficult to control. On an ALL bat, I couldn't keep any of my blocks on the table and my loops were going ridiculously long. Perhaps there was more than just a 2 minute hit required to adjust but I'd say that unless you are a pretty good player then there would be many, many more appropriate choices for you.

*GROAN*

This is exactly the sort of thing gets me wanting to get a sheet just to see if it's true. So far I've resisted with Tenergy 05 (and boy, is it expensive.. big disincentive), but I've tried four Tensors so far, including Rasant and Rasant Turbo, and I've yet to find that super fast rubber that's so awesome and so "professional" I can't control it. Even Rasant Turbo was... uh, well it was OK. Good for looping, but no better than a lot of other stuff I've tried. And I'm not a high level player (about 1300 level).

I say, go ahead, get a sheet. If it's THAT awesome, you'll find out soon enough..

if it was not the durability problem, i would have still play with MXP...i changed from T05 and never looked back...little bit more grippy with a bit harder sponge and not so high trajectory as T05...so, its a rocket for power loops...

the only downfall is that its top performance is about a month (with playing cca 3 times a week) and then start to deteriorate...you can still play it for months but that top 10% needed for having a direct serve point etc. is gone...

I wonder if Seamoon helps keep it going... Sort of rubber geriatrics, so to speak... :D

It just takes time to adjust. I use MX-P on my joola rossi emotion, and I didn't find it nearly as difficult to control as the Barracuda that you mentioned. Throw angle is far more reasonable and the bounciness was the same.

Dang, maybe I should try a sheet of "Berak Kuda" instead, then...
