Hello everyone, I’m 60 years old, born in Vietnam and now living in Georgia USA.
Have been playing TT on/off since about 16 in Saigon. My U.S. rating is around 1150 (25 years ago) but I’m guessing my current rating is around 1800 (I’m playing 3-4 times/week at a local club with people rating from 1500 – 2000). I don’t play tournament so my U.S rating is remained unchanged, but that’s ok.

I’m handshake, inverted, both wing attacker, loop/drive however, about 5 months ago I have switched my backhand to short pips after watching Mima Ito in Sweden final. :D

Working in Aerospace graphic art. Love traveling, reading, mechanic work, cooking and fine art.

Switching backhand to short pips was a difficult decision for me especially my backhand was good with inverted rubber, everyone at my club was very surprised.
But my philosophy is, one can’t loop forever as (s)he's getting older, however with short pips, I probably can block till 70's (i hope :). And, I can always attack from my forehand.

I’m the only backhand sp player at my club so there were times I feel lost as no one to share frustration or to seek for advice, now I found Ooak forum and have been learning/studying great information.

I would like to thanks all members for sharing your valuable advises.

- where are you from, country and club, where you play : Italy
- how long you've been playing (how old? ): I'm 55 yo (!), I played regularly when I was 11-14, then I stopped for about 40 years and started again just 6 months ago (eek! :o )
- playing style : quite an offensive kind of a player, if I see half a chance I can not resist. Maybe a more natural attitude for flat shots, blocks and smashes, but I'm working on my spins
- level : well, I can't be much more than a beginner

- job or what you do outside TT : Industrial Relations
- other hobbies : no much time for other hobbies, but I like theatre and movies, and I practice mountain bike a bit
- how you stumbled upon this forum: quite casually

Welcome Kubala. Your written English is very good. Hope you enjoy your second table tennis life, casually. :)

Hello :) I am new to table tennis, but my husband had a table growing up. I want to start learning to play for fun, just need to get some rackets now. :)

Greetings from New Zealand,

I'm 28 and have been playing for about 8-9 years, I used to play in various local and national tournaments in NZ as a junior and also on our regional mens team.
mobdro lucky patcher kodi
Unfortunately I have been out of the competitive scene for about 4 years due to University study, and I also became a Tennis Coach somehow (about 6 months after I started actually playing Tennis haha).

Anyway, I'm looking to get back into the game and helping kickstart Table Tennis in our region again seeing it's in a bit of a slump at the moment.

Looking forward to some of the pretty good discussions on the game & equipment here :D

Hi Everyone,

I'm from New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. I have only played at home and with friends until now, but am joining the New Orleans Table Tennis Club this week.

I'm 33 and have been playing since I was a teenager. I stopped playing for a while and have recently picked it back up. I am an intermediate-level shakehand player that needs to work on his backhand.

I'm a software engineer that plays music, builds guitar pedals, and does all sorts of woodworking. I came across the forum when looking for information about building blades. I found the legendary "Make a blade" thread started by Ross Leidy and now I am hooked. I've now completed my first blade, with many more to come. I'll be posting some pics and info in the aforementioned thread in due time.

Cheers,

Gumbo Jr
