Blade: Donic defplay senso v3
I am using dawei 388D-1 and it is good for blocking close to the table.I use it in 0.5mm sponge thickness with donic defplay senso blade

The best LP’s for blocking with thin sponge are probably the same ones that are recognised as good for blocking in OX. I have found that the sponges do differ a bit though which impacts on feel and performance and it becomes a matter of personal preference, especially regarding whether you’d rather speed things up a bit or dampen it a bit.

Much prefer OX to sponge. Sponge (even in thin 0.5mm) makes a BIG difference :o in weight and feel for me compared to OX.

As soon as you put sponge on a pip it changes the blocking abilities drastically. Indeed the blade underneath and Ox pip changes the abilities, depending on the blades speed, stiffness and hardness (composition probably encompasses all 3).

A friend of mine has recently changed from 388D-1 to Saviga (both Ox) and his blocks tend to be more vicious than mine with either pip (compared to my Dtecs). Put sponge under them and the blocking game suddenly changes. I had a hit the other day with my YinHe Loop King with C7 and 0.5 sponge. I could block nearly as well as my usual setup because the slower blade accounted for the faster pip (due to sponge. But reduced effect.

There are none. I recently tried Dtecs, P4, FL3 and Desperado 2 with .5 sponge. OX rules.

None if you want to block then you need ox pimples and a no vibration stiff/slow wood!
