Today my rubbers have arrived (Troublemaker ox and Elite Long ox), I just stick the rubbers, maybe tomorrow I'll play.

About a glue (I hate glue ox pips):

Elite Long:
- I loved it, very easy.
- It comes with a plastic sheet on the pips that makes gluing much easier.

Troublemaker
- I hated my first contact.
- It already comes with a glue sheet, and instructs you to glue the blade(and the sheet), but I just passed the wood.
- At the time of applying the rubber became crooked and when I took out the glue sheet was impregnated with the glue of the wood. :envy:
- I put glue back on the wood and before drying I applied the rubber, it will make it look good.
- I should have glued without using glue, I think it would be easier to correct the mistake.

Update:
I removed the glue sheet and today I glue it again using my glue sheet. I'll try to be more careful.

Sorry for my poor English, feel free to correct me.

I just purchased and mounted a sheet of der-materialspezialist ELITE LONG OX red. Very unusual LP. The back is matte and completely non-tacky while the front comes out of the package with an inverted-like plastic protector sheet lightly stuck to the tips of the smooth pips. This is the first LP I've ever encountered that has such a protective sheet on its hitting surface. It may be to make gluing easier, or it may be to keep the pip tips fresh until install, I cannot say for sure. It did seem to make the sheet more ridged so I ended up leaving it on until after I had applied and cut the LP to my blade. I attached it with a Donic glue sheet; a process that was uneventful.

I haven't had a chance to play with this LP yet but it looks to have a lot of potential based on the properties of the rubber itself, i.e. very stretchy, very strong, stiff, and sticky. The pips are horizontally aligned, smooth tipped, cylindrical, and widely spaced. My next visit to the TT club is Thursday evening so follow this thread for my upcoming review.

I had some limited play with this LP in OX red tonight, a returning shoulder injury preventing a full test. What I was able to determine is that ELITE LONG OX is very good at chopping. Ball path is laser straight and low, with deep table placement easy to achieve even from a fast blade. My practice partner was a US2000-rated two-winged looper and almost without fail, his return of my third successive chop would go straight into the net. My shoulder was in no shape for BH LP drives so that wasn't tested tonight. Appears very promising!

I had another brief hit with der-materialspezialist ELITE LONG OX red last night, again on my 3-ply all-wood (OFF) blade. This is a great LP! First and foremost, the amount of backspin this LP generates on chops is completely unexpected. I watched a 1900+ player return ball after ball after ball into the net, and that was on my first chop which I didn't even think I had spun that hard. Subsequent chops only get spinnier, with only one of my third chops getting returned last night. ELITE LONG hits well too, with my BH drives going right where I put em. Sadly, my shoulder is still in no shape for any match play or even a full practice session so that's all I have to report for now.

Did you, by any chance, try to do any blocking with these pips?

No, I don't typically block with my LP side.

Hi Nathanso,

How grippy is this rubber? Can you compare it to some other LPs please.

Cheers
Rob

Rob, It seems grippy, stiff, and aggressive for an LP. I'm hesitant to do any comparisons at this point since I haven't even played a game with it due to injury.

I had another session with der-materialspezialist ELITE LONG OX red last night at my local TT club, this time including a couple of practice matches.

ELITE LONG is one of the best hitting LPs I've had the pleasure of using. No amount of power applied to my BH LP drive would overwhelm the pips and produce unexpected results. Opponents commented at the speed of these incoming drives, and most of my better ones were not returned.

Chop blocks and off the table chops were as effective as in previous sessions, with opponents again netting my first chop unexpectedly and repeatedly. One kept looking at his paddle and commenting about the amount of backspin on the ball, though from my perspective I had done nothing special.

A superior LP that is my new preferred BH rubber!

Hi Nathanso,

Sounds good! I’m a big fan of your BH drive shots with LPs
When you get some spare time can you please do a comparison review of elite long vs other hitting pips such as 755 or meteorite. In particular I’m interested to know how grippy and stiff elite long is?

Thanks mate
Rob

Wow, this sounds interesting...have you tried Trouble Maker? If so, how would you compare them. It sounds like Elite Long might be faster.
