Hi,

I'm just looking for any black rubber with either a black sponge (if there is such a thing) or a red sponge.

Thank you kindly for your recommendations!

...and if you ask why black or red...the answer is why not!
It would actually look sharp on a red or black blade. :D

There was some Training Whale on ebay with the black sponge (under black topsheet). Look under the "Sales submitted by users" thread.

@ILOVEBALSA,
The only rubbers that spring to mind is the ktl black power and red diamond with black rubber on black sponge with the black power and red on red with the red diamond.
Both are decent rubbers for the price, though imo red diamond is the better of the two.

There was some 729 Super FX (in the 729XL packaging) some time back, problem was when I got some more recently they'd changed the sponge color. I suspect 729XL is just whatever 729 sheets (sometimes 729 Super FX, sometimes just plain 729) they have a lot of at the moment.

Thank you for the recommendation. Indeed I found it on Ebay from a seller in Hong Kong (TTNPP?).
I emailed the seller and TTNPP to see if he can send me one with a black sponge since he states on Ebay (Haifu Whale 2 Training Version... "Color of sponge is either in orange or black which will be randomly distributed."

For that matter, why not use a permanent sharpie and cover the circumference of the sponge! ;)
