The choice of the blade is important. IMO, the guy has found the right combo giving a low throw-angle which explains why he can keep the ball low over the net.

It would be interesting to know what blade he is using.

Looks like a Hallmark Ultra blade to me.

Thanks for posting this video as my chopping style mimics that; very exciting for me to watch. I am dumbfounded by the ability of FS2 to effectively play close to the table, chopping away from the table with low chops as well as the attacking. The only questions I have here are whether or not you can create or take away spin on chopping and if the pips are durable. Also, serving with it seems to add an advantage as well!

Did they test the OX or sponged version??

That guy knows how to use a LP! All of his shots are kept very low.

every shot starts at chest height... I know I keep saying it, but just watch the people who block low...

Since my FH, oddly enough, was a lot worse with the Persson Powerplay I decided to go back to the Defplay. I was planning on keeping the Dornenglanz but it didn't work nearly as well as on the Persson blade and so I decided to try the FS2 again. I must say that this is a really great LP, and now that it's been lying around without a cover for 3-4 months it actually seems to have lost some friction, at least it feels so when playing with it. The pips are quite a lot harder than DG's and personally I get more control with FS2, especially close to the table. I have a competition this weekend and this will be the first time using FS2 in a comp, I'll report back here with results.

How is the longevity of the Hallmark Friction Special 2 (HFS2)?

I tried Dornenglanz and liked the way it played but a number of pips in the sweet spot of the blade have tears in their base after only 3 hours of play (I posted that experience in the Dornenglanz thread.)

Can anyone compare HFS2 with D.Tecs and/or with Dornenglanz (all OX)?

I'm interested in trying the HFS2 but only if they last for several months.

Seems like a very high friction OX to me: probably ideal for OX defenders or attacking players. Apparently you can get it with and without glue sheet.

I can't no longer afford $55usd for Hallmark Friction Special 2. Any other rubbers out there play similarly or better? Grass has more reversal, but is too fast and not as good for attacking. Dr. N's One?

Sideways post . . .

I am alive! Great to see this post is also kicking.

I miss using Hallmark stuff. I tried to contact the bro and sis team several times a few years ago, but no response.

Hallmark is still in business - I received an email from Anne yesterday.
