Newest HM combination blade.
My first impression was "Dang....it was too slow". It was extremely slow. Note that I never used any real slow balde, slowest one are Dr.N firewall plus and DHS Hurrucane classic. I tried it with Saviga V.

Got beat by friends 3 str8 games(every chop was low and short(hit the net) and gotta hit hard to control it) . I was really upset about it then I tried TSP 0.5mm. Wow....TSP was too fast with Dr.N but it was a perfect match with Aurora !!! I chopped very hard and balls didn't go too long. I can produce very heavy underpin that I never be able to do before. Drop short is good but not great. Blocking is unbelieveble good.

Will give more detail after a few more games with it.

It made me wonder how the hell Joo uses 1.5 mm on those fast blade and still produce short and heavy underpin.

I consider TSP pips significant harder than Saviga V or Destroyer. I can't use it on med or fast blade.

Players like Joo need to be able to get the ball back from 4, sometimes even 5m from the table- so they need a bit of speed. Your comment about being able to get more spin is very interesting however.

Notice how fast Joo's blade is comparded to Chen Weixing's current Joola one. Chen's new "Octapus" l/p's must be really fast. Using a very slow blade and f/h inverted in Max to both chop and power loop with, is a nice trick. Chen probably gets more spin on both directions.

How thick is the Aurora blade? Is it stable looping from distance? Were you using the fast or the slow side with your P1r?

http://www.paddlepalace.com/product.asp ... ent=Blades

I used TSP on DEF side. next to outer ply is thicker than next to outer ply of another side.
The OFF side is just normal blade or a bit slower than OFF.
I produce less underpin when using it on MED or FAST blade, in this case it's Dr.N Firewall plus.
Handle is a bit shorter than normal.
