Hey guys, I just have a quick question. I don't speed glue, but I've heard of some people priming the rubber with speed glue and then glueing it normally to the blade. Do any of you have experience with this method? Basically, from what I've heard, you just use the speed glue one time to prime or soften up the sponge which can permanetly make it more "lively." That way, if you don't speed glue you can still get some benefits you wouldn't normally experience.

I find putting 3-4 layers of glue on (letting each dry in between) makes my rubber feel better and stick better.

You don't really need speedglue for this unless you want to soften the sponge or stretch the topsheet more.

I do let the rubber sit overnight before attaching it to the blade so it doesn't shrink back down later.

Yes it shifts the balance towards inverted spin, particularly when the tip has less friction than the stem. Works well on Allegator soft.

I was actually just wondering about the inverted side. Would there be a difference between using speed glue a few times and then attaching it permantely to the blade with rubber cement, versus just attaching it with normal rubber cement without attempting to "prime" it first?

Hmm, I think I just found what I was looking for over in the equipment section. Theres a pretty long thread about this juic ecclo expander stuff, looks interesting. Basically it gives some glue effect, but its a one time permanent thing. Of course it doesn't compare to real speed glue, but since I don't glue anyway that doesn't really matter. Heh, sorry speedplay, I didn't even notice that I posted this in the lp section...my bad
