Which version would you buy?

Bribar shipped me a Grass DtecS and assured me it was the ones with the glue sheet, but wasn't. Table Tennis Direct actually specify on their website that if you are ordering it in OX, you will need to purchase a glue sheet separately.

Won't be the same if you put a glue sheet on yourself. The factory sheets were stretched on at a specific tension.

There's a way to recreate similar tension like the version with glue sheet.. I'll post about that in the experimental section..

First, thanks to Gilles71 from http://www.tennis-de-table.com to send me pieces of his old and new GDTs

Thanx for the pictures, Derf59. It is now very clear the pimples of the new DTechs are shorter. :(

Sorry, I've made a mistake when I took the first picture. I've forgottent to put them in the same direction.
You should consider they are similar if you look this picture

http://img4.hostingpics.net/pics/408820GDTNewvsOld4.jpg

For me, old and new GDT have same diameter but the height of the pimple is différent
near 1,8mm for the "old version"
near 1,6mm for the "new version"

I suppose, in light of this indisputable evidence, my EJ virus now has a very valid reason to look for another new lp :P

Once the good versions of D.Tecs disappear, Dragon Talon is looking like my top replacement prospect at the moment.

Yes, I read the other thread and DT sounds very promising. Once again, what is the logo area like compared to the Dtecs? For my rpb penhold grip, I need a good logo space like the DTecs otherwise when my back fingers rest on the pips area, it gets uncomfortable. How I wish all lps have logo areas like DTecs.

You can trim all the extra pips in your finger area off with a small curve blade cuticle scissors. That's what I do with all TSP Curl rubbers and Yasaka LPs. :D

Yes, I done that in the past with some other lps. But I am just too lazy to have to keep doing that with every new sheet. I just want to be able to slap it on and off I go :)

Mine hasn't come in yet, but here is a pic from NetzKanteWeg on noppen-test.

The spacing between the pips seems to be a lot narrower than on the DTecS :(
