Hey all

Just wanted to say Im giving up the darkside. I guess I dont have the patience and skills to play with LP's effectively. I'm a attacking orientated player but I've been playing with LP's chopping for quite awhile now. Its got to the point where I miss my good ol both sides inverted attack.

A few days ago playing the top players in my state.... pretty much easily over 2100+ for US paddlers here. I got absolutely hammered so that was the icing on the cake. Ill still have my 2nd setup with LP both sides but other than that Im off pips for now.

This is a common thing I see - people losing and changing, losing and changing back, etc.

I guess it comes down to how you enjoy playing, and persevering at getting good at that style.

good luck to you. I hope you'll still visit this forum :( As for me, I've pretty much accepted the fact that I will not be able to devote enough time to table tennis to really have an impressive rating. Instead, my goal is to get as good as I can by playing the style that is the most fun for me to play. That style just so happens to be an aggresive/modern defensive one

That's a shame! I must admit after I get hammered badly I often re-evaluate if I'm using the right equipment as well...but i always return because I enjoy the LP so much...might not make me a better player though...

I guess you'll never know if you would have got hammered with inverted as well... some players are just too good, or at least to good against some style...

Hope you can stay here keep us up to date with your progress?

I like to blame the equipment when ever I loose and change to something new which claims to do something more and better, especially when my backhand gets hammered and abused. Im still waiting for Haggisv to get some magic pimple in stock which can do it all.

Thx guys

This has been coming for awhile. Ive been beaten, thrashed and hammered over the last few weeks.....and its not the losing. I feel that the LP's inhibit my natural feel for the game. I naturally like to attack aggressively with Topspin. With the LP's I cant do that. Ive stuck to the LP's for over 2months with training everyday. After all that I still struggle like hell to beat players I normally can demolish with inverted.

Im not the type to change equipment because of losing. I only change equipment out of curiosity or if it suits me better than what I currently have.

I will no doubt continue to venture in this pips forums as Its very interesting to read whats going on and all :)

Cheers

Yes fair enough! If that's you're natural game, then you're probably right...Good on you for giving the LP a good go!

Well the good thing is that no doubt you understand LP better than ever, so when you come up against them, you'll know exactly what to do...
