i bought a 2nd hand sheet of Milky Way Neptune[black] with around 0.7 mm sponge.

have been using black sheet of Kokataku Tuple 911 ox for last 6 months.

i took around a month off t/t and now cannot get 2 balls in a a row on with the Kokataku 911 rubber.

i tried the Milky Way Neptune and bingo, playing to my potential straight away!

differences i found with Kokataku 911 rubber----very similiar feel,Milky Way Neptune has sightly less reversal possibly due to thin sponge added, speed Neptune a litte faster,on flat hits,Neptune way more controllable but a little less flat, against opponents heavy topspin Neptune felt it had much more control.

had a shocker in first tournament of year with Kokataku 911,lost confidence in it for some reason, tomorrow friday, second tournament starts and can't wait to try Neptune out.

get the feeling i am going to stick with this rubber forever!

Good to hear mac33!

I hated the 911 myself... the pimple are so stiff, I felt I could not brush the ball very well. The pimple on the Neptune are quite a bit softer.

funny you should say you could not brush the ball with 911 as that was my best shot with this rubber

with slow ball played into my right hip,i liked to play a slow disguised off forehand shot [to opponents b/h]

i found 911 had sufficient grip to let me pay this brush shot well

when i play this shot with Neptune rubber and i let ball drop too low, i found i kept hitting ball into the net, ball felt like it was slipping off my bat!

yet in most shots, Neptune feels like it has more grip than 911

will let you know how i get on with Neptune rubber, as i have been known to change my mind!

I say that about three times a month ... all for different rubbers!

*tread hijack, what do you change the most, lp or inverted?

Hardly ever change the LP, always the forehand.

I take it you are happy with the Dtechs then. Now, the question is, would you move back to Super Block (which is what I think you used) if it became legal again?

In a heartbeat.

I revisited Neptune OX and 0.7 a month or so ago after reading Martin's assessment of its reversal. Yes, it has a lot of reversal. And good for chopping off the table. But after not too long they were back in my spares box as Pogo was clearly better, at least for my style of play. I will add that I've yet to break a pip on Neptune.
