That's going a bit off topic... you'd be better off starting a new topic on this.

I thought Armstrong Twister and TSP P3 alpha R had also very soft pips, if soft = flexible. What's the difference between soft and flexible pips, if any?

I've tried at least a dozen long pips myself and examined that many or more at the club and the GD Talon pips seem quite soft to me. Can't say they are the "softest," but they are at least on the high end of the "soft" scale.

I dont think there is any difference.....

but as soon as you add sponge, I would think it changes to mean the softness of the sponge and the flexibility of the pips...

The Xiom Guillotine is pretty soft, and I've never broken a pip in several years of using it now. In fact, I think it's the stiffer pips that tend to break more easily, because the soft ones bend but don't break (sort of like choppers :D ).

The sponge is that indeed. But the pips... hardly. Very hard to bend.

Hmmm. I'm not sure about that: P3r (0,5 mm) and Dtecs (ox and 1,2 mm) lasted 3 weeks. My first P1r (0,5 mm) also.

Tibhar grass and andro chaos is also very soft

Okay, maybe it's the just the Xiom Guillotine that's really well made. I still don't know why Xiom stopped making it. Good thing I ordered a large number of them when I'd heard the news, so that when I need to change it once a year or so just because it seems wrong not to, I'll have enough to keep me going for at least the next decade, by which time I'm sure technology will progress to the point where I will want to try another rubber.

Donic Piranja, should be added to the list, supersoft pips that bend well and effectively, haven't lost a pip yet in 2 years!

I'm reviving this thread in case anyone has anything to add since 2012. The softest ones I've played with are definitely the Joola Badman Reloaded (and much softer than Giant Dragon Talon & TSP P1R). Very difficult to attack with but incredibly disruptive and create the most wobble I've ever seen. Any other pips that are super soft that anyone knows of? I want absolute mush. (Widely spaced is good too.)

Globe 979 are very soft also. Out of the package I've been surprised of how soft were the pimples.
Softer than talon, neptune, 388d.
Another is spinlord agenda where the pips are soft and widely spaced.
