Yes, indeed. Occasionally(?) it's thickness was higher than 2mm due to the very thick base in combination with the length of the pips.

It seems that the weight of XY 979 ox is between FS 802 2mm and Pluto 1.5mm Moxa-sponge, the one with sponge seems slightly heavier than the Pluto.

So, the question is, is the XY still thicker than 2mm?!

Well that stinks if so. I guess that'd make sense why my local US supplier can no longer get. I suppose I can still get it via Aliexpress if I really wanted to.

Any other OX Long Pips have this same, or similar, thick base sheet? Honestly that was one of the things I liked most about this rubber. It was just so easy to glue & work with.

If nobody has another suggestion that's fine. I can always move to .6mm thickness in whatever LP i go with moving forward. But thought I'd check.

Xiying 979 is no longer approved. Try Yasaka Phantom 007. It's similar. Actually better in my opinion.
