I've decided to bite the bullet and get some of the TTmaster LP rubbers in.

I know a few of you have actually tried this rubber, but none have said whether they got them in OX or with a sponge, as they come in OX, 0.6mm and 1.0mm.

Since these are meant to be near frictionless, I would assume the OX would be best to get, or perhaps with a thin sponge...

Any suggestions / advice on which to get would be very much appreciated!

Cheers!

Perhaps that deoends on how hard it is to de-sponge. If I was going to try it, I'd want it on 0.6 sponge probably if I knew I could de-sponge it later and try OX. But then is 1mm easier to de-sponge than 0.6 being thicker? The sponge and rubber seemed to separate reasonably easily on the 0.6 Neptune when I cut it.

put me down for 4 sheets in .6mm!

Semifrictionless and no sponge may result in alot of broken pips so the sponge would help alot in preventing damage

How much is ttmaster charging for this magic pip?

Haggisv, I would imagine blockers would want the ox version. I ordered mine in ox last Friday and I plan to do a review when it gets here.

In the meantime, however, there are now several short user reviews on the German language Noppen-Test forum, and the general consensus among the long pip experts there is that Crossbow is the best alternative to frictionless pips to date.

I'm thinking the best blade to match this rubber with would be something slow. I'm planning to put it on a Dr N Combination Effect blade to (hopefully) produce slow, accurate backhand blocks while retaining some pop on the forehand.

Also, the 48mN mentioned above sounds high to me. This needs to be confirmed.

Thanks a lot for the suggestons guys, your views have given me a fair idea already on what to get!

I do think 48mN sounds a little high, but even at this level it may be useful since the pips sounds like they are hard and slow, and there are not many like this still legal.

I have chatted to TTmaster a few times now via Email, and have also invited them over to this forum, and they indicated they would be interested to participate... so hopefully they will.

The Crossbow is not so fast as the SB-IF, that’s one of the biggest different between these 2 LP rubbers!

Lot's of Players says on “Noppen-Test” that the SB-IF is to fast, and so there like the CB more. I don't believe that the CB is a good choice for me - the rubber is to slow!

Cheers Uli

Cheers Uli!

I'm ordering some of both, most in OX and a few with 0.6mm or 1.0mm. The guys at TTmaster have been very helpful, and I hope they'll take up my invitation to visit here as well...

I though SB was supposed to be slower according to their ratings - maybe I misread that, but it's the reason I ordered it over the CB, darn it! I want something to play slow in OX, like the Scalpel I currently use.

The Erra Team from Switzerland postet in muce TT-Forums that the CB is slower then the IF, but I will test these rubbers later, now i have no time.

When I look at the German Forums I mena over 80% use the ox Version (i dind not read much positiv testreports from the 0,6er Version)

Uli

Hi Everybody,,,
Since I won't spend the price for some of these rubbers, would someone compare the "Speed" of Dr Evil OX and others like Super Block? :D

To me DrE is a bit faster than SB or Friction special ox quite a lot slower than 837 or 563 ox.

DrE on sponge seems to speed up a bit more than SB on sponge. Dont know how that works.
