I'm on vacation in FL USA so I find one place to play in the area.
There were many ppl used Dr.N Monster. Way too many.
My experience were
1. Monster is hard to deal with...I played one old guy using monster. His style is blocking and attacking all highball. His placement was terrific.
Result 2-3..... (My rating 2019, his 1950)
What I learn? When he block my loop back, No need to try to push low. At the beginning I always push it to the net but later I just try to make it on the table. He didn't attack my high pushed ball...maybe not sure about spin.
I recorded this game but it's not good coz he was lefty and he stood at his right hand corner to make sure that he can hit every ball with his Monster. His body/back blocked camera.
There were lots of float coming to me....I KNEW it but I loop long coz not getting use to someone getting float to me. I think with a little practice, I can deal with this kind of ball coz it's nothing but i wasn't used to it.
2. Most guys at that club had problem with my TSP coz they always play against the Monster. They didn't know that I can change spin. I beat 2 higher level guys.(mine 2019, their 2100, 2070)
3. I THINK the most important thing for F-less user is ball placement.
I played my last game, kinda only practice, with one old lady using Monster. She moved me and randomly placeed balls short, long, left, right. I couldn't get to my position and bang it so my loop were mostly 80-90% of my best loop.
BTW. There's one guy who chop far-table using Monster!!!

Sounds like you had a fun tournament. It seems that you haven't played too many frictionless pip players at your local club. It is a good thing that you went to a different state to play so that you could play frictionless, it is a whole different world then friction pips. Great summation of your experience! Thanks for sharing!

It can be terrific if you can use it.

What a great title for your story! Dramatise the story a little and with a bit more humour it could go into our official PIPS tales... Nice story!

Are Monster attacks mainly no-spin balls, or can it be used to "attack" a top spin ball, giving a fast underspin that is dangerous if it stays on the table? (ie like Inferno is designed to do.)

Yeah, definately a great title! I've never played against monster so I'll try to keep those tips in mind if I ever come across them
