Can anyone compare the Joola Badman Reloaded (OX) to the Dtecs new version?

I was also wondering of the Badman Reloaded pips are as soft and dtecs pips?

I actually find that Badman pips are a little more soft than D.tecs.
D.tecs pips is a little broader than Badman.
For me Badman is much easier to use in hitting and blocking
but D.tec2 has a higher disturbance.

I think speed is about the same.
I think that Mcafee knows a lot about Badman.

The Joola Badman is an excellent long pips that plays much like the Grass D-tecs. It has the same feel (soft) and about the same speed. Not quite as much reversal but very close and much easier to control when attacking.

I am still getting my best results with DTecS but would like to add variety with LP attacking shots. Some posters seem to think Badman might be better than DTecS in this respect.

What type of shots can be played with this rubber which cannot be played so easily with DTecS?

The biggest upside to Badman over the D-tecs is its ability to better handle no-spin returns.

Coach McAfee, how does the Joola Badman compare with the rubber you formerly used, Cropcircles? Are there any distinct advantages that the Badman has over that rubber? Which one is slower? I'm currently using Cropcircles, and liking it, but of course, I'm always on the lookout for other possibilities. Thanks!

Hi Jim,

Cropcircles is a great all-round long pip. It excels in control and attacking ability. Cropcircles blocks very well as it has a low throw but you need to have "active" hands to get the most out of the rubber. Badman has more reversal especially on passive blocks and has a softer feel more like D-tecs. For me both rubbers work great against U2000 level topspin players but against the higher level (more powerful loopers) I like the softer feel of the Badman. Like all OX long pips these rubbers are very blade dependent and you need to find the right combination that works for your personal style of play.

It is almost impossible to give good advice to anyone that I have never seen play regarding equipment. So much depends on your style of play, and your personal set of skills. All long pips are very blade dependent. Badman plays a lot like D-techs so if you have ever try D-techs on your blade you would find the Badman very similar.

Just got sheets of Badman in (in the shop), and noticed that it is a Tensor and has a glue sheet attached. I wonder if it does have some tension inbuilt via the glue sheet, which the old Dtecs used to have?

Yes, I think so.
I did rip glue-sheet off though.
I have an 0x red.

Actually, I find Badman better for my kind of style
really offensive play with BH, and when forced,
chop-chop style.
Sad, that Badman isn't made originally with 0.5 mm sponge like Octopus.

Badman is highly recommended by me!!
It is a rather expensive LP though

Yes, and neither is Dtecs, which is no coincidence I think. Perhaps it's too hard to make a Tensor sponge so thin?
The Octopus is not a Tensors, which may be the difference...
