Does anyone think there are some good serves that can be effective with long pimples?

I personally only serves with them as a surprise, after some very spinny serves I might throw one in with the same action to try and trick them... This might work against lower level players who can't think fast enough, or don't even notice you twiddled. It might throw off the rythm of some higher level players, but some will hit it for a winner... so it's dangerous...

In general through I feel i can do all serves with inverted, including fast flat balls...so I don't really see the needs... A twiddle during the service action might be effectice perhaps...followed by a double twiddle

What do you think?

I find serving with Long Pimples can be quite effective when serving to another LP player, especially a fast serve. Often they will hit them over the end......the old no spin serve, always good for a few cheap points.

Mt best service routine is to play a top/side spin backhand left to right accross the table using short pips - often gets put off table long and to my right.
Then with frictionless pimples make exactly the same serve but with slightly less contact whilst looking at far right corner. The lack of any grip pushes the ball weakly straight down the left of the table, often double bouncing. Nobody expects it because it's the same serve with 2 very different results.
The only frustration is it's so effective I often have a let called against it.

This is a good idea - frictionless helps though and if its too frictionless it'll drop off the bat.

That Greek defender P. Gionis serves a lot with his long pips, so it can be effective even at high levels...

The only success I have is when I catch my opponent off guard, and throw in a LP serve and he treats it like a spinny serve...

Apart from this I can't see any serve that you can do with LP that you cannot do with inverted...
