How is the TSP curl P4 when blocking close to the table?I've heard it is good for attack and okay with chop.In blocking can the ball be controlled? Also if starting to play with Curl p4 without having played with this rubber before does it take a long to get used to it

Are you going to be using it in OX, or with sponge?

I thought of Curl P4 1.5mm on a Nittaku Violin blade

As I mentioned in the other thread, I haven't specifically used this rubber, but hardly any long pips with a 1.5mm sponge is going to be good for close-to-the-table blocking. If you mean attacking an opponent's blocks (which you'd been asking about in the other thread), that's different, of course. But if you're just trying to block an opponent's loop (or even block an opponent's block), a thick-sponged long pips rubber is not going to provide sufficient control, and the ball will likely go off the end of the table. This is why I was suggesting that you either go OX and chop block or else switch to short pips (or, at least, stiff medium pips) and attack from your backhand in a manner that would be more dangerous than attacking with long pips.

it's very good for blocking. Almost like a soft inverted slow rubber.

Hi brokkie
If you have played with p4 1.0mm can you tell the difference in control between 1.0 and 1.5mm p4? Does the ball pop up like short pips? Or is it harder or less control on chops with 1.5mm?
And how is the attacking and at the table chop blocks and blocks against fast loops?
Thanks in advance
