From the perspective of defenders has the WTTC been completed with the present day. Joo Seahyuk failed in R16 against a strong playing Ma Long. Bilenko had a great match against the Japanese teenage star Ito Mima, played much varied and lost 1-4. Ivancan went down in 0-4 at R16 against the Chinese Ding Ning and Li Jie against Zhu Yuling exactly the same way. Wu Yang reached the quarterfinals, where she lost in a hard-fought match against her teammate Ding Ning in 3-4 games. A small consolation is still there, because LI Jie and Li Qian are going as double into tomorrow's semi-finals. Last videos with the defenders are linked in the corresponding post. There remains little time to enjoy one or another video, till the Belarus Open begin on May 13. :D

Thanx for posting all full games on Youtube, martin. ;) The ITTF stream was really lagging here.

@Lorre
I've watched Ding Ning vs Wu Yang and at the end of the match in the 7th game, the stream was constantly interrupted. ;)

Thank you sooo much for this enormous and fantastic thread!!!
Have you seen any player that seem to defend with some kind of MP (besides Li Qian) who also uses BH for som attacks? Like a mix of Li Qian and Mima Ito ;).
I really like the style Polina Mikhailova, especially her low BH drives/smashes. She is fantastic when she is in the right mood and don't miss a lot of attacks. Have you any idea what pip (SP probably) she is using? My guess is Spectol.

@Def-attack
I know very little about the rubbers of the women. I also do not know why defenders did not play with medium long pimples. They play either with short pips alla Spectol or with long pips. You are right, attacking with the pimples on bh is very effective. :D

Unfortunately, a lot of defensive players are eliminated from the tournament. In the next round is in the men's only FILUS of the party and in the women's SEO, DOLGIKH and SATO, with SEO encounters DOLGIKH. ;)
