Have you noticed this ?
I know twiddling is not easy.
But if you look at almost all long pips or anti pro players, none of them seem to twiddle at all. Most of them may twiddle just to serve with smooth rubber on backhand and twiddle right back and that is it and even that I do not understand at all because I think if they serve with both types of rubbers from either side I think it would be more effective. I think this is what Cai Zhenhua used to do (and Eric Boggan to some extent but with great success), causing the two color rule. I do not know how much John Hilton twiddled.

Only pro level players I have seen twiddle of late are Russian women. There was a Russian women whom I have not seen for an year two, used to twiddle like crazy. Her name ended with a "va" I think, which is of course not saying much LOL

So who are the best twiddlers of all time ?

Hi,

I've seen several pro players twiddle (and I'm not talking about just serves, and these are no necessarily the best twiddlers in the world) . Joo See Hyuk, Manika Batra, Ruwen Fillus, Hitomi Sato, Ma Tae etc.. The thing is - They twiddle back-n-forth so quick, we don't realize that they're doing it ..

I don't know about that. Ok I have not seen much of any of these other than Joo Sehyuk but I have not not seen Joo twiddle during a match against a top 20 player. I have seen Joo twiddle once in a long while to smash from backhand but none of these come close to the Russian woman, whose name escapes me. She twiddles almost non-stop

If they are twiddling so fast that is not a big deal. You can slow down the video. Do you have any video matches of these above players twiddling, which I obviously have missed ?

Viktoria is a good example, the epic Euro championship final shows it best in the 2nd half of the video

We dont see "twiddling" as such. Twidling is the black art of rotation of the racket in the hand.

Twidling is NOT the black art of rotation of the racket in the hand.YOU-AND ONLY YOU- just say that because of your weird hatred of the pip players .PERIOD

Off the record, so you know forever : There are many pip players playing with legal equipment. Then, the art is not dark; the only dark thing is when they use the black pips.

Chai Po Wah is probably the best twiddler in the word. She was a top 10 player in the 1990's.
Chai twiddler very frequently, like nearly on every single shot.
Below is a match between Chai and Geng who was ranked in the top 2.

Most of the European choppers are big twiddlers. The Asian countries seem to do much less of it

Filus twiddles a lot to attack with his backhand, which to me seems really devastating, as he really goes for it.

Manika Bhatra does twiddle constantly. You never know what she will serve with or return serve with at any given point in the game.
