Nice playing! I guess what really bugs you is that you spent all those years playing with P1-r? Or is this improvement mostly due to the plastic ball? No matter what is it really interesting how moving to a more "easy" lp can have this effect. I know I have had my share of playing with too difficult rubbers...

After using EASY-P, I haven't missed P1-r at all. This this another reason to stick to it.

Are you currently using the OX or 1mm version? I suppose the 1mm version is better suited for chopping (your style of playing)?

I have 2 paddle.

1. Firestarter + secret flow chop + Easy P OX.
2. NEXY Lissom oversize + Easy P 1mm + switch around between(Vega Asia, pro, japan and MX-S)

I like #1 but the problem is I can't return serve of player 2300+ with it. I beat most, if not all, U2100 with it. It's the one I use to conserve energy.

If I have to play players rated over 2200, I use #2. Since my opponent in video is rated at 2525, I HAD to use #2.

That No 1 FL champ is good to watch. He seems to have all the time in the world.

I first tried Easy P on the Defplay and didn't really care for it that much to be honest, it felt too grippy and high throw. Now when I'm moving over to Clipper it feels awesome, good control, not at all as grippy and the spin reversal is pretty decent, especially for such a slow rubber. I'm still debating between Hellfire and Easy P but the plan is to decide tonight. I've only had about three hours comparing them side by side but Hellfire felt a bit better in service returns and pushes while Easy P felt better when blocking. I think it's mostly a matter of personal preference but I like the feel of Easy P more, it's not as bouncy as Hellfire. If I can get it to work as well as Hellfire on service returns and pushes, which is probably the most important stroke for me, I think this will be my LP.

I think that Sauer and Tröger are doing a great job with their pips, I'm quite impressed to be honest.

I viewed Easy P and Hellfire pips under a microscope
Easy P pip tops are completely smooth, but Hellfire has rough top.
Both are slow pips made by Sauer & Troger of Germany.

i wonder what are the diffence in performance? May be Hellfire rubber has more friction.

I think the better way to block is point the paddle tip downward, touch the left side of the incoming ball and flip back

Did you try sponged or OX Auzcar?

Joe, would you say that Easy P is kind of an easier or more reliable option of P-1R? I tend to go back and forth between DG OX and P-1R and the reason is almost entirely about the service return. I find DG OX much better for me so long as I get in the rally, the US is very difficult for even 1900+ players to handle. But like you, I feel sponge is better for the service return. Many high level OX choppers successfully return serves with OX (Gustaf Ericson is a good example, who is world ranked) so it could just be me. But my technique for service return vs. higher level players is much better with sponge.

Plus, I'm only able to practice twice a week these days if I'm lucky, and as much as I love P-1R, it's kind of hard to maintain my level without getting some time in. At least, to me it is.
