Looking for a cheap long pip (+- 25 euro ) for a player who plays close to the table and (chop)blocks a lot. He doesn’t chop away from distance but plays close to the table. Not looking for OX but with a thin sponge (0.5 – 1.0).

With the following characteristics:
- Good voor push and chopblock
- Insensitive to incoming spin / good control (for service return and in the game, no popping up, so a flat/float trajectory)
- Good reversal and deception/disruptive effects

Anyone else can give me advice ?
Blade he uses: Donic Waldner Allplay

Most Spinlord LP's can be had for less than 20 euros. I have played with Dornenglanz the last couple years with good success. Other LP's from Spinlord (Agenda, Blitzschlag, Zeitgeist...etc) are also highly regarded; search this forum for reviews and info to find the one that matches your playing style.

Giant Dragon Cropcircles OX is good for what your describing, not sure about it if sponge is added.

Depends on his skill level with LP.

National Pogo would be a good choice if he is in early stages.

388d-1 or 531A or even Bomb Talent if he is somewhat proficient.

If playing close to table though, Ox will provide the best effects, unless he wants to attack with more power. The sponge will also reduce control on most shots.

In addition to the usual advice of "everything." :D
If you must have sponge, Giant Dragon Meteorite in 0.5 is really good for close to the table. It's the only rubber I liked for close to the table chop blocking WITH sponge. Everything else had to be OX for me to like it.
