Hello guys. First of all, sorry about my english.

I need to replace my fathers backhand rubber. It's an Air upupup OX. I can't find that rubber in Spain, so I'm looking for a good replace. I though about Bomb Talent, but I was told it's no easy to manage. Someone told me about friendship 729, but I'm not sure if it's so efective as air upupup or bomb talent. My father uses the long pimples to block and push. He chops near the table too sometimes (not usual).

I can put the list of the shop I usually buy TT equipment (some of the rubbers are probably NOT OX):

- Palio CK531
- XITYING 979 OX
- Amstrong Twister
- Bomb Talent
- Dawei 388 D-1
- Dawei 388D
- Dawei 388D1 Quattro
- Friendship 837 Premium
- Friendship 755 Mystery III
- Friendship 755-2 Mystery
- Friendship 837 Mystery III
- Friendship 837 Mystery
- Giant Dragon Gian Long
- Giant Dragon Giant Long Soft
- Giant Dragon Meteorite
- Giant Dragon Meteorite Soft
- Globe 979 OX
- Jap-Tec Rubber DL-01
- Juic Leggy Defense
- Kokutaku 911
- Mily Way Neptune
- Stiga Destroyer
- YinHe Galay 955

My father uses Air Upupup OX in the backhand on a Toni Hold blade and a Desto F3 1,5mm in the forehand.

Which rubber should I buy for him in the backhand? Control over spped.

Greetings

If you are considering a suitable replacement for Air UpUpUp look no further than Bomb Talent OX despite what you have been told. It is slowish and a very versatile long pip. I use it on two blades - a Stiga All-round Classic and a Yasaka Sweden Classic and play the way your dad does (block, push and occasional chops). Bomb Talent suits perfectly for this kind of game and it offers good control even on attacks. Other LPs (I tried) and can suggest are Dawei 388-D1, Dawei 388D (more for chopping), Milkyway Neptune, Galaxy 955 and Globe 979. Also consider Palio CK531a another great LP but a bit on the fast side.
Good luck in your quest and choice

You should note that there were many different versions of this rubber (even though only one version was approved... lets hope the IOTTF don't get wind of this  ), so unless you know which version you had, it might be hard to find a similar one.

After using Air UPUPUP UX the softest I think, 388d was a cheaper better option with more effects and control for me.I also liked bomb talent but could feel the blade a little too much when chopping

Wow.. are the topsheets different? On that website I linked to, I see four versions - SF, U5, UQ and US. "Ultimate Speed and Spin", "Allround Play", "Controlled Play" and "Aggressive Play". Sounds like a whole spectrum of rubbers! Oh wait - the SF is actually Scirocco - similar cover design.

Yes the topsheets are different, using different rubber formulations, but the pip shape, spacing and logo are identical.

I've tried them all when they first came out... I must have a review somewhere on this forum, not sure if I can find it though.
