Hi there. This is a bit of a related thread to the one I started, "effect of pips spacing". In the testing I've done recently, I've found that I really like the Dornenglanz 2. I was using Grass D Tec S, and for most of my pips playing time over the years I've used grippy pips. However, in the sessions I've played with the DG2, I've found that I really like the increased control from the rubber, and I've found that I can punch block and attack better as well. I also love how it handles flat balls.

I was wondering, if anybody had ideas for other pips that had similar characteristics. The DG2 has more widely spaced pips than many I've used and are definitely less grippy. As I've typically stayed away from those types in the past, I was wondering if anybody had any recommendations for similar types of pips to try. I'm going to give the Friendship 755 a try, I seem to remember those were good for blocking/attacking close to the table. Would like to hear about any others people think are good for this style.

Been doing a little reading, sounds like maybe Yasaka Phantom 008 or 009 might be similar. Anyone have experience with that? Any other advice?

What about a different DHS pip, C8? I've read a couple of descriptions of it that sound similar.

My team mate has just put OX C8 on his blade. I had a look at it. It didn't look especially spaced out. In play it seemed pretty slow, and fairly grippy without a ton of reversal.

Very little effects or reversal with c8 ox,it was ineffective on Defplay for me and no trouble for opponent
