For example, red P1R OX is opaque enough to hide dark wood or logos on light wood.
Any others?

How about CK531A?

Thank you. :-)

there are not many...

i suggest you buy an opaque or white gluesheet and put it under the ox lp...

i was also covering the logo with a red marker on one blade

Based on previous threads on the subject, we know of one retailer who's been looking for one for seven years now, another retailer who doesn't seem to carry them anymore, and a manufacturer of one that no longer exists. Those threads also mention painting the blade, which I've done in the past.

"How about CK531A (especially the one from the yellow package)?"
No.

So if I'm understanding this question correctly, you want an OX red rubber that will hide the logo?

ck531a in OX I've had. It's pretty thin. I think it'd show.

Immediately I think you want a thicker base sheet OX red LP to solve this problem. That's clearly Xiying 979. The thickest LP base sheet I've ever seen. It's a really nice LP also... But only in OX. Apparently it's horrible with sponge.

To suds79:
Thank you very much!
I also see your ck531a 1.0 vs Xiying 979 OX comparison here viewtopic.php?f=11&t=2326&start=60#p325678
and your comment on the Wang Qiu Yi thread here viewtopic.php?f=35&t=25432#p271235, so I guess we're looking at the same things. I also admire Zhou Xintong (388D-1) and Ni Xia Lian (Curl PH). I've been using 388D-1, painting some of my blades, but I'm not 100% happy with that. After watching Wang Qiu Yi for a while I see a lot of similarity to Zhou Xintong, making me more willing to switch.

About Xiying 979 OX, martinspin said (from http://www.noppen-test.de/forum/viewtop ... 831#p70475) "...similar to Curl PH ... for forehand-oriented offensive play ... Definitely makes playing with the Xiying 979 quite a lot of fun and is imho superior to Curl PH in some points".

So, here's the list so far:
P1R (and other members of curl family?)
Xiying 979

Kokutaku 911 ..thick base sheet. Of the non transclucent ones I tried p1r ox offers more possibilities,on Black Balsa 3.0 it will generate decent backspin just pushing against a push, not many ox lp`s can do this, however the backspin was much less on Defplay senso so this is blade dependant to some extent
Also good attacking with p1 r ox

I can't speak to some of the others but Pogo in OX I'm pretty sure would show the logo through. That's one flimsy thin base sheet.

Nice rubber. I think compares favorably to ck531a in OX. I'm talking if you were to cut the labels off them and have me hit with each? I don't think I'd be able to tell the difference.

to remove the logo or paintings on the blade surface, you can try using acetone. If you have sealed your blade already, it may take some elbow grease.

If the base sheet of an LP is thick, the pips are not of maximum length and may not have the LP "effects" you are looking for.

While it's still a worthwhile topic, in the course of researching this I have determined, as well as I can, that my two favorite lp players both use thin sponge (and so I can stop worrying about this topic). I'm relieved because I've been improving with 388D-1, and I already know that adding the .5 won't make much difference in my case.

I did order a CK531A .6 (very cheap!) but I think it'll be pretty similar.

There are few. I have used white glue sheets in the past. Currently I have spray painted the dark side to see how that works. Seems ok so far. If you have say a limba or other light colored top layer of wood with logos, etc you may wish to lightly sand that side.
