My team mate plays cpen and uses 755 on his fh to attack. Very effective.

Very OK. Very effective.

Do you use the backhand? Or plan to JUST play with the long pips?

I focused on attacking for about 5 months and 755 was the best of the lot for me. Deng Yaping, one of the best ever attacked with them and only won several championships and olympic gold with that LP.

Having followed my team mates quest for the perfect attacking lp, the 755 was definitely the best. The other one that worked well for him was C7, but that's arguably a medium pip.

I think 755 and crop circles are pretty good.
I've been enjoying using d.tecs.
Arguably tougher to use in attack, but trickier for the opponents.

Maybe medium pips would be good for attacking style long pips though,
do you usually get medium pips in 1mm sponge or so?

A smooth rubber or short pips on the opposite side of your paddle is crucial for this style.

+1

My team mate uses tenergy 05 - loads up the spin with serve, then twiddles, and uses RPB to attack too.

I play long pimples on my FH attacking style. During the years I have tried a lot of rubbers for this style of play (Curl P2, Tihbar Grass Offensive, Dtecs, Talon, Pogo, 755, Long A, Kokutaku 911, Yasaka Phantom 0011, Dornenglanz etc.) I look for my pimple to easily attack backspin, a rubber that allows me to be aggressive against no spin and that can blocks top spin (reversal is not that important but keeping the ball low. I think the best rubber I have tried for this style of play are:

3) Cropcircle OX: Good all around rubber but I found that different batched of rubber played to differently so I decided to change.
2) Hellfire OX: Good attacking rubber but it's a little bit slow.
1) Spinlord SternenFall OX: Currently using this rubber, attacks very well against back spin, blocks OK, sometimes I can even top spin an incoming top spin which usually ends up with my opponent hitting the net. I can be very aggressive against no spin and this rubber isn't very sensitive to incoming spin, so I can handle very well side spin serves.

I just bought Dr N All Around which I plan to try during this off-season.

Issues with this.

First, your strength in this style will be attacking back spin or high balls. Without the ability to serve very skinny your opponents will just loop your serve and you must chop block and try to make your opponent push or regular block to try to put him out of position.

You are already one shot behind.

Second.

Serves. Doesn't matter what you do. You will hit a level where people will just start killing them. You need to serve spinny.

Have you ever tried a double sided Jpen?

Until they get used to it.....

Then that will be a sitting duck for someone with a good over the table backhand.

Can you serve fast and long?
