I'm a huge Bond fan also. For Christmas a couple of years ago my wife got me a book called "The Man With The Golden Typewriter", with a collection of letters that Ian Fleming wrong. I thought it was pretty interesting.

This is almost a month later than the eta for Schmerz. I think Sebastian had some issues getting the rubber on time.
A couple things, I will be doing a giveaway for my spare sheet. The rules are below.
Before that, initial look at the pips. They are closer than I drew (this is the first time seeing in person so...)
The base sheet is pretty heavy, the pips are somewhat short, decently close together and flat on top.
Scrounging through my collection of pips, it looks closest to 755 in size and structure. I can't seem to find my sheet of Crop Circles, but I imagine it close to that as well... Maybe I'll search more later.

I think that is all I have for now.

Here is what I have posted on my Social media accounts:

My cover illustration and the new Sauer & Troger Long Pip Schmerz are OUT NOW!
I am running a Giveaway for ONE spare copy of Schmerz for members of the OOAK Table Tennis Forum.

Japsican,

Yeah! I lived there off and on for much of my life before I left my senior year of HS.

For anyone outside of the U.S. don't be afraid of entering the contest because of shipping I'll probably ask for $5 to help with the shipping if you win.

Croudy,

Can't understand a lick of what is being said, but love the close ups of the cover!!!!

I've seen this guy testing it on other reviews, he is REALLY good.
He really is hitting hard with Schmerz! definitely bringing the pain!
I don't think I've seen him hit so hard on other videos!

I've also seen him playing that first player often, and even though the reversal doesn't look like much, it looks very controlled and can really put the pressure on someone using fast, aggressive punches and blocks.

is that what this says?

Apologies to Japsican and Traditional Tradesman, but I didn't know this video would be posted today. I am going to extend the giveaway an additional day because of it. In case anyone else wants to enter. (Though it looks to be the dead season around here and no one is posting).

Schmerz has a very good control. The thick bottom cushions fast incoming balls so that you can produce really short dropshots. Chopping generates heavy spin close to the table and in some distance. Reversal effect is not so heavy but on a good level. Aggressive play is also possible as you said.

Does the review describe the pips are relatively hard?

Tradesman. Speaking from feeling my own they are pretty hard and stiff (I know you like the softer pips, I do too). But these look pretty interesting in attacking possibilities.

Yeah, the problem is that that guy in the video makes every set of pips look good. He's just super skilled.

Tradesman,

Yeah. I completely agree. that guy is REALLY good. He controls his opponents making them give him what he wants. Its how I would like to play. (no where near there).

What I noticed is the big dude he plays against at the beginning is often his opponent in these videos. He knows how to play pips. So what I noticed is that he doesn't net a lot (good to observe this big guy in demo vids) for schmerz. It tells me the pips don't have either a lot or reversal or deceptive shots.
But I do notice a lot of low, linear trajectory and control.
Also, he is hitting pretty hard with the pips, especially when the second opponent shows up, harder (I think) than some of the other vids I have seen. In some he happier to sit back and chop. In the second half it really shows he has incredible ball placement and quick hard hits close to the table.

So I agree, hard to say how they work on a lesser player (like my self), but I love the possibilities.

I just attached mine yesterday and have to say that it has a low bounce and very dampened feel to them, and has the stiffer pips I talked aobut. The sound bouncing a ball off it sounds more like an ox short or medium pip to me, more "woody" sounding. so maybe they play similar to them.....
