Ah very cool of you to offer, but I'll pass on the Millitall.

RE: Virginia, if you ever happen to be in this part of the world for holiday, hit me up and maybe we can hit at NOVTTC or somewhere local.

Looks great in the video. Of course, just selective highlights. One always wonders what was edited out.

Hi my name is Rob, I’m new to the forum but I thought I’d offer my thoughts on the new S&T LP Schmerz. For this review I used the NSD.

I mainly play an aggressive close to the table push-blocker style with some elements of modern defence.

I have decided to compare this to the other S&T LP Hellfire because many forum members are familiar with it, as well as DR N. All Round Premium (ARP) because it is directly relatable.

Schmerz has a horizontal orientation with medium/hard pips, which have a smooth surface.

Speed: Schmerz>ARP>Hellfire.

Control: Schmerz=ARP>Hellfire.

Deception: Hellfire>>Schmerz>ARP.

Spin Reversal: Hellfire>>Schmerz>ARP.

Passive reversal: Hellfire>>Schmerz>ARP.

Chop blocks: Hellfire>Schmerz>ARP.

Blocking: Schmerz>ARP>Hellfire.

Hitting/Attacking: Schmerz>ARP>Hellfire.

This is a fast LP that is orientated towards active play. Either active, aggressive pushing or blocking or hitting and attacking. When it comes to hitting this LP really shines. I found it very very easy to hit through my opponents back spin and no spin balls. I was able to do BH topspin rolls, flicks, pushes, swipes, drives and smashes well.

Due to the medium hard pips and excellent control this LP also excels at active blocking. It is easy to perform blocks across court and down the line with accurate placement. Active push/blocking often results in a skidding no spin ball.

There is reasonable deception/wobble/diving balls but not to the same degree of deception seen with Hellfire. Same with passive reversal and chopping. I would not recommend this LP if you primarily rely on heavily loaded chops against consistent loopers. There just isn't enough reversal. Similarly I wouldn't recommend this rubber if you rely on winning points through deceptive effects such as random deviation in flight path etc.

In summary this LP rewards active play. It is like an improved version of Dr N. All round Premium. Schmerz offers better deception, reversal and attacking options then ARP, while still being controllable.

Later I will also try to compare Schmerz to Viper if i have time.

To clarify is anyone know the lenght of the pips. It is written is it medium hard pips than later it is an LP. So is it an LP or an MP ???

It looks that the new ball make the companies to do more MP for being able to counter, block, chop, drive, hit etc. I'm presently changing to Mp so I can also all the short PIPs can do as well as LP.

It's definitely a Long Pimple Maddrag! But it's good at "counter, block, chop, drive, hit etc," for a long pimple anyway.

I don’t think Schmerz is fast at all. I think dornenglanz is fast. And talon less so. I would rank Schmerz as a touch slower. And it has a very low throw angle. Other wise I completely agree with the review above.

Croudy, isn’t the zjk paddle fast? How was the rubber on the fast paddle? Your thoughts?

The rubber itself does not look like anything that I would be interested in.. Hard rubber mix and pips that are close together with a thick bottom.. I like soft and wide spaced and thin bottom..
