Just get a thicker sponge :P Unless you like 0.5, or the sponge really is that hard.

I personally think the sponge on the 388 D (or D1) is harder than the P-1R. I'm always surprised when people tell me they think the sponge is hard, It's medium-soft to me.

0.5 to 1.0mm feels like a lot initially, but after a while you will not feel like it is harder to control. Just need to get used to it. In fact, after a while the 1.0mm will break in, get dusty, wear down, and you will appreciate the extra sponge I bet, especially when facing heavier loops.

In the short game, the 0.5 initially offers more control if you have difficulty reading spin. It also offers more control vs. lots of spin. But again, after the 1.0mm breaks in, it's awesome.

I personally have never found any better sponge then the p1r sponge. I have used the sponge on p1r for all of my long pips for a while now. Try the 388 on the p1r sponge!

Is that what you are using under your C&F III? Where can you buy it separately? Or are we talking about boiling it and separating the sponge. I hate doing that....

There is no boiling....if you play p1r for a while the sheet starts to separate itself. And whenever brand new, p1r separates quite easily without boiling

Also I'm using ck531a now, been since early december lol...haven't got around to Changing my signature because I use tapatalk to sign into the forum and it's a hassle.

So you are using the P-1R Kawa under ck531a? Awesome, that sounds super nice.

I have always wanted to try it under Dornenglanz myself. I have an old P-1R to tear appart and you are making me think!

I should give BLutenkirsche Japan Sponge a vote of confidence. This is the closest available sponge to Tackiness Chop 2 imho.

I put 1.5 mm of it behind various pips, 388 d1, neptune, and stranger, beside pro xp and geospin tacky, and it gave me tons of control. ;)

It available in 0.2 mm increment from 0.3 mm to max. Will try 1.3 mm soon ;)

What do you use to attach OX top sheet to the sponge?
