Hi guys,

My style is modern defence, but I haven't been chopping for long. I'm looking for info on LPs, especially in the tsp section. I've tried p1r and p4 both in 1mm, and had great success with both (moved to p4 for more control though), but I'm wondering, as I haven't used them all, how the other LPs (p2...) compare to them, what are there differences, what they best at ( blocking, chopping...), and which you've liked the most. Thanks for any info given, much appreciated.

‘Best’ depends on your individual needs. I’m currently trying P3aR. It’s rather slow and the pimples are quite soft and without much friction. I would say it’s strengths are in blocking and control over the table in service returns, pushing etc. It’s weakness is probably in chopping, especially far from the table, given its slowness and inability to impart much spin. Not one of the popular Curls but it suits me since it has similar characteristics to classic anti which I have also used on my BH.

Honestly, none of the other TSP LPs make sense for Modern Defense. That's not what they are designed for.... Can they work? Sure, any pip can.

P-1R and P-4 are for choppers and modern D. That's really where it ends.

AS I said in my forum about comparaison of the TSP millitall, Agressor and shockwave, the LP seems to lost a bit of its spin speed and control and max out with the new plastic ball. I started to play MP and I found it more approppriate with the new ball. THe agressor look like the the TSP P3a-r but with bigger pips that give more speed, more spin and more control when the opponant is a high rank player. IT chop swing look like the TSP pr-1 and at high speed find it quite spinny.
