Blade: XVT Balsa Carbon 10mm all
FH: Xiom Sigma Pro 2 2.0
BH: Globe 979 OX
FYI .. XVT Balsa Carbon  blade 10 mm thick .. at their website  .. is Type .. All .. but the stamp on the blade says .. OFF .. even in their picture ..

http://www.xvt.cc/xvt-balsa-carbon-p-1168.html

I made inquiry to XVT. They said per users experience the blade is more All Type.

It has a good dampening effect when using long pips OX for blocking.

Hard for me to imagine how a 10mm balsa carbon could only rate an ALL.

It's definitely slower than the Yinhe T-10/T-10+ which is also a 10mm balsa carbon blade.

This blade is Hinoki with balsa core, which is supposed to be a very good combo for a long pips side.

Balsa has the softest Janka rating for wood hardness of all that are used for making blades.

Yes balsa is very soft. The blade is balsa/carbon/hinoki. In my experience 10mm+ balsa core blades are light, stiff and fast, even without carbon. But perhaps they can vary more than I was aware.

I have blocked a loop kill shot which hit twice on his side of the table.

FYI

I have three of these blades from AliExpress since cheaper.

1 Backhand side appears to have same side of top layer as 4H so significantly faster.

1 blade has med speed on the backhand due to top layer.

1 blade has a slow top layer on the backhand

Yep... This blade has a very good dampening effect...

It took me a while to figure-out how to control my shots with this blade...Infact, I'm still finding it erratic, on the LP side (Pogo OX) ... Wondering if I should switch to a slower LP, or even a sponged one .... any suggestions ?

The Inverted-side (read signature), on the other-hand, is a sheer delight, with offense, and defense.... I feel, my blade/inverted rubber combo excels at BH Punching/Jabbing, flat hits, passive-blocking, and down-the-line topspin drives/loops.... For some weird reason, I net most cross-table top-spin loops/drives.... I'm really tempted to try this blade with inverted on both sides...

I am going to use my fast blade both sides with double inverted.

I don't have any problem using OX with my other 2 blades, actually plays like a dream. I am more use to playing with the medium speed and does have great dampening effect.

I have found my sweet spot with this blade using Globe 979 OX. Maybe because I quit trying other stuff and focused on being consistent.
