I have been playing double inverted modern D, but the lure of a possible cheap, decent LP alternative from a source in the states is too great.

Has anyone tried these yet?

I asked Zeropong about them, and this is how they described them:
Quote:
The long pips are good for chop blocking and chop well with sponge away from the table. Fairly good at hitting (for a long pip), not good for close your eyes and stick your bat out there and hope the ball gets back on the table!

pretty useless reply imho. I can say the same thing about almost any sponged LP. It's like saying "XYZ is a good looping rubber, very good at looping from close and mid distance, as well as blocking at the table..... " :D

Well, that's why I posted here about them.

the one thing I thing I took from that replay is that they probably aren't slippery pips. There are plenty of pips that even with sponge might be the "Stick your bat out there and hope it comes back to the table" variety, but less so these days. I think they wanted to make sure I knew these weren't Dtecs or DG or something like that.

Efou (member here) tried it and I played against it.
GXL reminded me of 755.
It seems to be better for blocking than chopping.
No massive reversal... most of the balls came back deadish.
Quality was really good for $14.
