I just can't decide ox or rubber, seems ox hittings are much more harder to return, and you can chop lower and spinner but a little more unforced mistakes, rubber lp usually goes higher when chopping, and easier to get the punch in also easier to return, what should I use?

To rephrase your question, are you asking whether you should use LP in OX or with some sponge?

By the way, if you truly want to chop away from the table, you have to move a lot, so not sure how much easier it is if mobility is an issue. Can't say much whether chopping is easier on a shoulder, though.

I'm with pgpg here. Chopping is more movements. If you want lesser movements should be blocking and pushing oriented game, with you stay close to the table. Perhaps you meant block chop instead of chopping.

I think depends on which style you prefer, slowing down the play (prefer OX), faster play (sponge).

But then again you also seem to see a lot of senior choppers winning tournaments and such. Especially at lower levels. So I think at the top end chopping is a lot more movement, but lower down the ladder they can get away with being less mobile. Less, not IMMOBILE!

And looping everything takes a lot of movement and mobility as well. When comparing the two, personally I think chopping is easier on the body overall though perhaps harder on the legs. So if you've got better legs than shoulders, do as arnie says and... get to da choppa!

Ox is easier to use and probably better for most people. Spinner with sponge allows more variation but is also harder to control. With ox I feel if you can reach the ball, you can return it!

Opponent this week had to avoid topspin due to a sore shoulder but had no trouble chopping he managed to return some of my best shots with no pain,I think close to the table blocking (off the bounce if you can),chop blocking, pushing and swiping with ox will be good for a sore shoulder :Chop:
