I have played quite a bit with Dtechs 0,5 But often struggle against spinless passive shots.
I play a chopping - connterattacking style.
Would it be easier to hit with a thicher sponge ?
How would the thicker sponge react vs the thin One ?
Also how does Palio ck 531A 1.0 play conpared to Dtechs ?

My rating is 1850, im told that it is equal to 2000 us rating.

Thicker sponge adds more grip when engaged, so hitting is more consistent but less "funky" as they say. I actually just swapped to the d.tecs in .9 sponge, so have a bit of fresh knowledge with it.

I'd say it is easier to attack the no spin shots with, but you still aren't going to be winning any spin awards with the rubber! It can still behave a bit like the thin sponged versions when you punch quickly. That is, against backspin balls you can do the punch-block sort of hit and send it back as a no-spin/top spin ball. With a rubber like feint long 3 or curl p4, that won't work.

That's my take on it anyway!

I have (more or less) the same equipment as you. For me Dtecs 0.5 feels close to perfect, althought bit on fast side. I have no problems with no-spin balls. I very rarely "hit" with Dtecs, but otherwise I play aggressive pushes a lot.

I haven't tried Dtecs 0.9, but I doubt that it has more benefits than 0.5. My teammate just bought Palio 1.0 and it felt great for chopping with JSH blade. Not sure how good it is in table play.
