Hi OOAK family!!

I am after suggestions for a medium speed, low grip, long Pip Please.

For example, many well known long pips with low grip such as D'Tecs, Dorneglanz, Talon and Badman are at the faster end of the spectrum.
And pips such as P1@R and Hellfire are at the slower end.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a medium speed, low grip, long Pip Please. Similar speed to 388d-1 or Shmerx.

Looking forward to any suggestions.

Thanks in advance.
Rob.

Did you try Hellfire? I guess it’s all relative but I didn’t find it particularly slow, in fact it was a little quicker than I prefer.

I would say you might want to check out viper.
Of what’s been mentioned:
Speed h to l - Dornenglanz ....... d.tecs .. talon ... hellfire . Viper . 388-d ........ Schmerz

Schmerz seemed like a 755 meets c&f 3 mix to me. Not particularly high reversal. But great for attack and ox chopping. Low and slow.

You also may want to think about agenda. Very good all around, also not a high reversal either.

Thanks for the suggestions, much appreciated! I have tried most of the above mentioned LPs and interestingly I have had a slightly different experience then you. Speed levels are subjective and difficult to define, dependent on blade, player and style.

Interesting that you found Schmerz slower then hellfire, I actually found the opposite. Even on the S&T website they give schmerz a higher speed rating then hellfire. I personally found Schmerz to be faster then hellfire, Viper, Agenda and 388D-1.

I try to play an active, aggressive push-blocker style with elements of modern defense. Similar style to Croudy from GeBlock TT or Richard McFee (but Obviously not that good). For this I find Schmerz excellent. A certain amount of speed is necessary for this style of play to put the opponent under time pressure.

I am looking for a low grip LP with medium speed. Speed somewhere in between Talon and Hellfire. Any ideas?

Cheers
Rob

Thanks for the suggestion. How does it's speed and grip compare to any of the previously mentioned rubbers by Ehimle?

Cheers
Rob

Generally a slow LP with smooth top tips and some grip. A tad faster and grippier than 388D. Suits my game perfectly. Cheap if you decide to give it a go. I chose this LP on recommendation from MNNB when I switched to playing with LP and stuck with it with no regret. I play it in OX. Good luck!

Viper is softer and slower than the other pips I've tried (except Armstrong Twister). I've stuck with it for the last year, as I have better control than D Tecs, Hellfire, Talon, DG (and others I've spent less time with.
