Hello everyone,

I have played a few years of table tennis, since I'm an older man, I made a combination to play with two defensive rubbers that you see in the signature. I'm successful for now :)
My opponents have a lot of trouble with my rubbers.
My game is based on playing near the table. Most often I use my bh, which has long pimples and it tricks the opponent. I block a lot with bh near the table, and push the balls.
Five or six months ago, I tried to boost my bh tire with paraffin oil and wow :), it gave very nasty balls that have erratic bounces and trick opponents. The rubber also got a lot more backspin when blocking, which also tricks my opponents. I know this is forbidden, but I do not play competitions, I only play recreationally. After the paraffin oil boosting of the OX rubber, the effects it gives are great.

However, I have one problem ... very soon after the boosting, the pimples on the rubber began to fall off. I tried more OX tires in the meantime, and they all behaved the same way. After boosting them with paraffin oil, sunflower oil, baby oil ... it was always the same ... after a few trainings, the pimples are falling off. I have the impression that the paraffin oil softens them, so when the ball strikes them, they are easy to rip off.

This happened on the following rubbers ...
DHS Cloud & fog 3 OX, TSP Curl P-1R OX, Spinlord Strahlkraft OX, Spinlord Gipfelsturm OX, Globe Mo Wang Long OX, Dawei 388D-1 (all of these are black)

Does anyone have a solution to this? The long pimple rubber really makes a lot of problems for the opponent after boosting it, but

Did anyone try something like this? Do you have any solutions? i haven't tried Tibhar grass d.tecs OX yet.

Thank you in advance for the answers...

Recreational play and boosting? |( Just enjoy playing LP and your table tennis without boosting. Problem solved! ;)

Even though you are playing recreationally, you seem to do it for a reason, that is to beat your opponents, right? Are they OK with it?

You are treating LP to modify it in a rather significant way, so not cool in my book. The fact that pips are falling out, well, that's a side effect of what you've done to them. Sorry, don't have anything else to offer.

The only thing I can suggest is that you buy a sheet of Dr Neubauer Super Block which can still be bought for recreational play only. At least it's not going to fall apart. As with boosting, I suggest that you ensure that your opponents are ok with you using it.

The parafin oil must dry the pips out. Try using some oil on them after the boost, might work. Say olive, canola etc.

Just an idea, don't know for sure as I don't do that.

The solution is don't do it. It is giving you an unfair advantage and just giving LP users an even worse reputation!

Did the pips get harder or softer from that treatment ?

Get a bottle of Seamoon perhaps? Probably a lot more money than you'd want to spend. Or buy some of those expanded pips from ttnpp:
