I'm always deeply impressed by someone who can gauge the thickness of a blade to the millimetre just from looking at a youtube still from a distance of 5,000km, when I can't even do it when I have the blade in hand.

You think that's impressive? Wait until you see them nail down the sponge mm thickness!

I don't think the ridicule belongs in the thread about this great player.

The blade looks oversized and thick to me too, but not 10mm thick. I have a few 10mm single ply hinoki jpens that appear thicker than her blade with only one rubber on them. Almost looks like a Joo Se Hyuk blade at first blush.

I think Max is right. Look at the lense, it matches the logo the "CRW". Also, notice the plies with alternating pink and wood colors, the famous clipper 7 ply look. (see attached).

Unfortunately this morning (canada) she's playing against zhu yuling for her first round. A match with finalist flavor.

And she lost in 4 sets. Am I blind or isn't she using a pimple on her backhand any longer?

The surface of her red rubber looks smooth in the latest vids on YT, China Super League, against Zhu Yuling. It's very hard to see it since the camera focusses mostly on Yuling.

its a video put on YT 5 months ago. I didn't checked it but it was obvious that at the grand final in december she was using long pips. The commentator keep stating it.

I am talking about a YT-vid from 10 days ago, not 5 month. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SxOIujK6fok
At least it doesn't look like a feint any longer, instead it may be a short pimple.

10 days is more recent than 5 month, isn't it?

Sorry my mistake. I looked at the video and you can see that she hit her backhand with the blade pointing mostly to the ceiling. Not a shot to do with inverted. The blade is too open. By doing so she can counter hit, block, flat hit with just a small difference of racket angle. The wrist action is less than inverted also. The opponent topspin of the ball would send the ball outside of the table as it hit the blade if it was inverted. Imo
