TSp p1r advice

I am currently using a Dr Neubauer firewall plus with dtecs ox on backhand and short pips on forehand
I’ve recently been trying tenergy 05fx and enjoying it ; I’ve been advised to try using a long pip with some sponge on as opposed to ox as I tend to get back and chop quite a bit and was recommended tsp p1r with maybe 0.5 sponge or even 1mm.
Does this sound like good advice for the above mentioned blade and tenergy on forehand?

Any advice greatly appreciated
Thanks

I made that change a little while a go (Dtec OX to Curl P1r) and I’ve not looked back. So long as you’re not blocking at the table shot after shot then for me the Curl works a lot better than Dtec Ox, where you can become a bit of a sitting target. Passive blocking with the Curl won’t work at all.

I tried all three sponge thicknesses on the Curl and found the 1mm middle one to be the best all round for me.

There is a very definite difference in the way Curl plays and so a bit of an adjustment required in your own technique. Once you start getting the bat angle right you can then start altering where on the ball you strike it and create the spin variations that the rubber is famous for being capable of.

Thanks very much for that I think I’ll give that a try
Bribar the TT distributors are at a large club near me on Wednesday so I’ll be able to try a few out.

So many lps to choose from I’ve gone from Joola octopus to butterfly feint , to the tsp curl can’t quite decide between the p1r or the 4
I agree with what you said about being a sitting duck sometimes close to table blocking with dtecs ox I experienced that couple of weeks ago against someone with a forehand loop from hell hence my thoughts about getting the tsp with sponge and chopping from further back.
