Privet (hello),

I used to play with old Dtecs (I miss it) then regular Dtecs, but too fast. I changed to Talon but lose pips fast, and Talon National Team too expensive. Is there a clone to Talon? Same geometry or similar? Thank you.

Weird. I never lost pips with talon.

I assume you are speaking about OX pushing?

You will get the usual advice of everything, but I thought Piranja and Joola badman were similar performance-wise. Felt different though.

Bomb talent maybe, but I only briefly hit with it years ago. I’m speaking mostly based on what others have said.

Also heard viper performs well and similar but no direct experience.

I abuse LPs like few others, swinging powerful BH topspin drives with OX LPs like GD Talon, and I've never had a sheet of Talon loose a pip.. and I've owned at least 5-6 of these. I consider it one of the most durable LPs out there. Are you certain you're not using a counterfeit version? Any pip that sells for $20+ will breed counterfeits. I attach mine with Donic glue sheets, but that 100% firm bond tends to be harder on pips, not easier.

I'll second the recommendation for Viper. Especially if you found dtecs too fast.

Interesting. I switched to Talon from Dornenglanz precisely because DG was losing pips like crazy and Talon never did. In any case, I’m playing with Blitzschlag now. I think it’s pretty nasty, although not as fast as the Talon

Hmmm, do you really think there is a 'National version' of this rubber?

Second the comments on Giant Dragon's QC. Have played extensively over the years with Talon, Cropcirlces, Giant Long, and Meteorite and, despite, heavy play, have never lost a pip. Can't say the same for DG, 388d-1, and others. Must have been a one-off situation.

Yeah Blitzschlag is controllable but you can make nasty attacks on backspin balls.. and super low/short blocks.

Dtecs was too fast for me as well.

'Pushblocker' says it's the only place that has it:

https://ttdd.eu/giant-dragon-dragon-tal ... -team.html

Not cheap, at 30Eur...

That's what I've been using for years now.. Only one place has it.. Lasts longer than regular Talon and the trajectory is consistently low.. Regular Talon varied too much from sheet to sheet when it comes to trajectory while National Team Talon is consistent. Super low trajectory.. Best blocking lp by a huge margin..
Difference between regular Talon and National Team Talon is just the rubber mix. National Team uses softer rubber mix.. Same friction as the regular one but softer..

I have tried Bomb Talent and the trajectory for 90 degree blocking was too high.. Bomb Talent is great for chop blocking but not for off the bounce 90 degree blocking.

There are very few lp rubbers with a consistent low trajectory.. Talon National Team is the best but Dawai Saviga has a fairly low trajectory too as does SWORD Scylla and Globe 979 and 388D1 quattro.

Japsko also sells Talon National:

Expensive as hell.

Hello , i can confirm the pushblocker's afirmation about the dragon talon, at 90 degree block the traiectory was low but is sort of harmless against the undercuts (only try iy with plastic ball)
