I'd like to hear your opinion on long, slow pips.

Currently, I'm using a Sanwei Defense blade with Grass Dtecs OX rubbers. However, I'm facing difficulties in keeping the ball on the table, especially against highly spinny shots. I'm wondering if you have any recommendations for long, slow pips rubbers with high reversal similar to Grass.

If you are chasing high spin reversal, I suggest having a look into the world of flantis. Generally the flantis have higher level of spin reversal than long pimples, especially considering the ban of frictionless long pimples. I am pretty sure there are suitable long pimples out there for this purpose, but maybe flanti is also an option.

Maybe Dr. Neubauer Super Block is an option, but as far as I know it is banned? or unavailable. Andro Rasant Chaos is also another possibility.

Rubbers with good spin reversal similar to D'tecs include, Joola Badman, Giant Dragon Talon, Spinlord Leviathan 1a (not premium), Spinlord Hai and Spinlord Dornenglanz.

The slowest of these rubbers in Probably Hai or Dornenglanz. If i were to recommend just on of the above pimples i would suggest dornenglanz. However dornenglanz needs to be broken in and has average/poor durability.

If you have "difficulties in keeping the ball on the table, especially against highly spinny shots" your problem is most likely technique not different rubbers. My advise is to try a couple of different long pimples and then just stick to one and train regularly. I cant emphasis this enough, regular practice is significantly more important then the material used on your blade.

For what its worth I dont think Rasant Chaos has good reversal at all. Its certainly not like D'tecs at least. Chaos's friction is more in the mid range, it's good for hit, chop and block but offers little spin reversal on active shots.

In my experience, I have found out that it is much better to use a slow blade with a fastish pip.The strategy is based on consistency.

For a more active game, then, an off blade with a slowish pip seems better ...... those of you who can have consistency with a fast pip and an all+ / off blade must either have a high level or be wasting your time with the fantasy of using a fastish blade.

I came to the conclusion that I have no skills or time for training to improve with a fast set -up .

I only struggle with high spins, when there are three strong consecutive drives. However, I find the Grass to be quite fast.

Good input from Charmander and Rob M. My two pennies - try a sheet of Dawei 388 D and/or 388 D1 on your Stiga AR. They should offer far better control than DTecs and perform just as well overall. Both cheap and good pips. Ultimately as Rob M says, you will need to settle for one and stick with it. Good luck!
