Ruwen Filus (Germany) and Fabian Akerstrom (Sweden) both had successful outings in the 2009 European Championships. Their efforts have been rewarded by huge jumps in ITTF World ranking for October 2009, with both reaching their highest ever ranking.

Filus moved from #182 in Sep 09 to #138 in Oct 09
Akerstrom moved from #241 in Sep 09 to #214 in Oct 09

Filus plays a modern defender style while Akerstrom is a close to the table blocker. Both have strong FHs and played some very entertaining matches.

That's great to hear! Let's hope they continue to climb that ladder... would be great to have them in the top 20 or so!
