Hi Folks...now that BT has be out and used for a while...does anyone have an opinion as to the most effective form of BT...Ie sponge or OX...

I have always used OX...but I am now thinking about a change...and adding some sponge to the OX...

If anyone hss some thoughts to share I would appreciate it...Thanks,

Ive tried superfunhappy's bomb talent in 1.2mm, it was stuck on his timo tricarbon and half barricade setup. Pips on the carbon side. Overall it was too fast to chop a full stroke, chop blocking from long distance was okay but I just had too hold so much back to make it land or else it goes long. Plus the sponge muted the sound, no "tonk". I had no idea if I chopped it right. Reversal was still there on the table but I guess if you get used to it long enough you should be able adapt???
I still like ox with the talent.

I believe OOAK is now selling the 1.0mm sponge version now. Check it out.

Cheers.

I seem to have become the local orderer of chinese rubbers ..... last order of Bomb Talent was for 0.7mm sponge and I got both a grey sponge version and a pink sponge version. Not convinced the pips were exactly the same looking through the packet ? I'll get feedback this weekend from the buyers ...... anyone else had the same variation ?

Yes I've noticed the same... The colour itself does not mean much, as it's simply a dye. They are probably just from different batches. They looked similar to me, did not look real close though...

Yeah, all the codes / references on the packaging were exactly the same so I shouldn't worry. Still ...... were those pips the same spacing and width ? Sometimes my eyes deceive me.

Any further thoughts on playing with BT with sponge? It's something that I'm thinking about seeing as I like to hit the ball now rather than just playing a blocking game.
