If we do decide to add a Chinese section, I can add the Chinese language pack as well, which means the user can choose Chinese when they register, and all the forum labels and instructions (apart from those that we have added ourselves) will be in mandarin too. There does appear to be the choice of Traditional or Simplified, and I'm not sure which is the more common?

Thanks rodderz, I'll look for a kiwi language pack as well

Right, if we are to target the mainland Chinese, simplified version is their wordings. Most oversea Chinese understand simplified version anyway.

Sounds great!

Would anyone else like to help out with running this? I think it's going to be little work, as it might take quite a while before it takes off, but we do need someone around most of the time to monitor things, even if it's just to make sure the comments aren't spammy or inappropriate.

Sorry, I can't help much. I cannot write Chinese. My Mandarin is very limited.
I can see that this is going to be a lot of planning before it can be launched. It has the potential to become very big and turn into a separate forum, as big as the English forum...so be prepared :o !

You could be right... if it does take off it think it could be great for our forum. I can't say I've done much planning, I was thinking of just starting off small, and make changes when they're required.

Do we have any other volunteers that would be willing to help out with this?

Without 2 or 3 people to keep an eye on the section, I don't think it's wise to start it... ;)

Sounded like a true enterpreneur.

It all starts with a dream (the One-Of-A-Kind forum), then it's all about 'hiring' the right people.

I would probably say, about 2 people to man the section would be nice. I hope it goes well.

yep I agree, 2 people to help out would probably be enough to start with...

I'm still quite keen to start this new Chinese section, but as was mentioned above, we need at least another Chinese speaking member to help out. I'll just bump this thread every so often in the hope that some of our Chinese speaking friends will see it, and are willing to give us a hand.
