OOAK Table Tennis Forum

There has been suggestions of new sections, to reduce clutter and keep things organised and easy to find. Sections that have been proposed are:
1. Personal blog section
2. Dedicated section for our interviews
3. Geko's translated articles and other articles
4. Coaches section, here only qualified coaches will answer questions

I'm reluctant to just create more sections, as I think too many sections already makes things hard to find. It's been suggested to remove the hardbat section, which has not been as popular as we had hoped. This would make room for a new section, although we'd have to pick which one. I don't think the topics above are related enough to lump them into one new section.

Any suggestions?

I like the personal blog section as we have a few people who do them and it might encourage others.

TT Interviews & Articles can be one section.

Coaches section, would it really be used? We already have "Techniques, strategies, coaching"

Hardbat section was a failure. Delete it

"ITTF & Associations" and "Professional Players/Coaches" are pretty dead at the moment. We can combine them.

If we forget about the coaches section, the net result is the same number of sections we have now.

I think that makes a lot of sense.

Most of the current hard-bat section posts will need to be moved, and the most appropriate place is probably the short pips section, as most posts are rubber related.

I think Blogs are kind of like "self-interviews", so they could go into a section that has sub-sections like the vids section and just title the main section something like "TT Literature" or "TT Current Affairs" perhaps and then with sub-sections of: Member Blogs, Interviews, Articles. So we just replace the hard-bat section with one new section.

Also we could take hardbat and make it a subsection of short pips. I like subsections.

Also, can we get a few more stickies in General? We only have 12!

I think that making the hardbat section a sub-section of short pips is a good idea! This allows us to maintain the section, without it taking up the space of a whole new section on the main page.

TT Interviews & Articles can then go into a new section by itself. This will also clear up quite a few of the stickies in the General section!

Not sure about the personal blog section yet...not sure if it's right to put it into this same section...

That's a not a bda idea, but I'd rather have the pictures in the relevant sections, eg blades pictures in the blades section, long pips pictures in the long pip sections, etc.

just a random musing...i also had a thought about integrating all the pip sections into a section and put the hardbat section into a subsection there along with long pips, medium pips and short pips, cuz hardbat users can use OX mp and lp too, cant they? ( i think so)

Agree with Speedplay, lumping pips together a bad idea....unless MNNB would like to have it with sub-sections for each pip type

I think we should have a new section for links to TT news. I wouldn't mind reading daily TT news updates.

It could be called "TT News & Views" with subsections for news and user blogs.
