One of our members has suggested a whole new section for Table Tennis Robots. The section could be positioned just below the current "Blades" section.

I do like the idea of a new section dedicated to robots, although I'm not sure if we have enough discussions on the topic. Of course having a new section just on robots might encourage more discussion.

A whole new dedicated section is good to keep things organised, but on the other hand we don't want too many section or the home page can look cluttered, making things harder to find.

What do you think?

Personally, I've got two robots and they're almost a daily part of my training regimen. If this section would stimulate discussion on how we can get the most out of our robot practice, fix problems and compare notes it would be great.

Also this section would probably pretty quickly become the "go to" place on the net for comprehensive information about table tennis robots, which I don't think would be a bad thing for the forum.

Does anyone else have an opinion on this?

Could be good. I don't have a robot and when I've used one it has felt artificial (pun intended). I do think they're valuable and they do seem to fit the training regime of this sport very well. I think more discussion might sway my opinion of them, except that I'd still have no place for one. The Ballarat club does have a robot permanently set up.

If there are no objections, I think we should perhaps give this a go. It would take a little time and effort to find and move all the older robot related threads to the new section, but this can be done over time.
If the section proves not popular, we can always remove it again, and move the related threads back into the Equipment section.
