OOAK Table Tennis Forum

Good thing I spotted it in one of my other posts!

If I type in the word "k-i-t-c-h-e-n", the forum converts it to the word "rubbish". Does one of the admins have an antipathy to places of food preparation?

We got lots of drive by spam relating to the word that you spelled out with interposed dashes, so (I think) haggisv put a rule in the forum configuration to transform it to rubbish, as the first is extremely unlikely to come up here in the normal course of events. Makes it fun if you go off topic to home renovation or whatever.

Yep, purely based on there being a common type (and heaps of it) of spam a while back that always featured this word. Replacing it with kitchen (Iactually wrote the word then), resulted in a warning to people that the post was Rubbish.

Yes it worked well for a while... so instead of their links getting SEO value from the k-i-t-c-h-e-n that they're trying to promote, they're devalued by the word rubbish.

Come to think of it, those spammers seem to be gone these days... perhaps we can restore our use of k-i-t-c-h-e-n, since there's obviouly a great need.
