I notice that there are sections for lp, anti and SP but what about Tensors ?
It seems that this is the direction that TT i going.
Wouldnt it be great with a tensor section where loopers like me who only want tensors would look ?
And another one for choppers who use inverted chinese rubbers.

What do you feel about this ?

It's not a bad idea, although I can foresee a lot of confusion on what posts actually go in there. Tensors refer to only those tennsioned rubbers that are made in the German ESN factory. So technically rubbers like Tenergy would not belong there, but a rubber like XIOM Guillitine (long pimples) does belong there...

Perhaps if we broaden the section to something like "tensors, tensioned inverted rubbers" it would be more suitable?

What do others think?

A tensorlike section seems just fine.
Why does tenenergy not belong ?
Lets see what others think ?

Right now the equipment folder includes posts on inverted rubber, blades and glue/adhesives, as well as the odd posting on shoes, tables or other equipment.

It might be worth making both blades and inverted rubber their own categories, but I think tensors would make too fine a distinction, as I assume there are a limited number of folders that are allowed.

One way to keep the total number of folders down would be to combine "Hints and Tips" with "Technique and Strategy."

I concur with Andrew -- too few hints and tips to make a separate section. I got used to having the Equipment section as the inverted home...

Perhaps if the inverted rubbers and blades have their own sections, it would look more organized, but I'm not really that sure...

Yes I totally agree with combining those 2 sections, I never got around to combining those, so I'd better get onto that!

Yes we could at least seperate the equipment section into parts, but I can only see a minimum split into 3, inverted rubbers, blades and others, which is quite a lot...

True. How would it be if we keep the articles in their sections, and put a reviews section for all equipment instead?

Any more than those three would be confusing I think.

I don't think that works too well, as reviews often end up into big discussions, so then they're not really just reviews anymore...

Yes I agree. The other trouble is of course that it's way too much work to transfer the threads from the existing section into the new sections, so it will be quite confusing for a while...

Idea...due to the nature of discussions here in OOAK.

Is it possible to make subsections in this forum? That could be a solution...

That's a good thought actually. I know this version of phpbb does not support it, but since we're about to upgrade to the new version, this might be a very good option.

Thanks for the suggestions guys!

Making seperat sections for blades and rubbers? Haggisv, I can forgive the noobs for this but you should know better! This have been discussed before but goty dismissed as many people do ask for a suitablke combination between blades and rubbers, now, in which section would this go? Blades or rubbers?

I'm being the conservative one here when I say leave it as it is!

Well... if you have a blade and want to know which rubber to put on it, put it under rubber (inverted, LP, SP, anti).

If you have a rubber you like and want to know which blade to make it faster/spinnier/better control/lighter/heavier, then you put it under blade.

Make sense?

^Makes perfect sense, but what if I'm new to the game and want to buy a blade and some rubbers that match?

Or what if I have a combination of a blade and rubber but want something faster, asking if I should change the blade or the rubber and wants some suggestions?

I think the equipment section is fine as it is and splitting it up would only add confussion. Also, it would mean more work for Haggisv, so I'm sure he will agree with me

Possibly, but we already have separate sections for Long Pips, Short Pips and Anti and that doesn't seem to have caused too much confusion.

I'm not worried about causing Haggisv more work as he can do so while I sleep  Or you could take turns....
