 Post subject: Most users ever?

Would anyone be interested in organizing a date and time for a huge number of the users to go online and see how high we can get our "most users online ever" number? Just something I thought would be fun :) we would obviously have to work out the time zones. Let me know what you guys think.

Funny I've been watching the number of people lately as well... it seesm to be on the increase... What's the higher number you've seen?

Would be interesting to see what portion of members come from which areas... not sure anymore if it's dominated by aussies...

there seems to be a lot of visitors on the forum, highest ive seen was about 20 people. I noticed alot of members log on aroun 5am sydney time or 11+GMT.

I know, I haven't really been watching the max number of members on ever (since it has stayed the same) but I have been checking out the number of registered users, which is rising. Perhaps if we had a date set far into the future, people could pencil it in and there would be plenty of time for modifications. I know I would be willing to stay up (or get up ;)), a little bit early or later to participate. Its just a thought, I'm not sure how many other members would be interested though...

Some guests would be search engines spiders, others would be people just browsing without logging in or even registering... I know quite a few members here lurk around a long time before they registerer or post...

I'm a little confused haggisv. Are you saying that the search engines would throw off how legit the count would be? I don't think it would hurt to have a couple extra boosts from google or msn ;)

Yes the count includes those spiders... in this version of PHPBB it does not identify which ones they are... The search engines seem to love this forum... you can sometimes find something in google within mins of it being posted...

Which is actually kind of nice. Unlike something like MYTT.com where they get a tremendous amount of traffic, but the signal to noise ratio is massively lower. I like the quiet family scene.
