anyone played with these SP,I use 802-40 but thought I would give these a go as well just to try out,I really like the 802-40 on a 35 degree sponge.
What can the 388b do different than the 802-40 and also what can't they do .....cheers

I played with both the 802-40 and the 388B-1. It seemed to me that the 802-40 had a little more spin, but of course that means they were a little more affected by my opponents' spin as well and weren't quite as good for hitting as the 388B-1.

802-40 and 388B-1 are pretty much the same. The Globe 889-2 is similar in pip size but a bit softer in feel. I like the Dawei sponges better than the ones that usually come on 802-40 which feel too firm for my taste.

The Dawei 388B (not the B-1) is a different rubber, more similar to Stiga Radical (but softer) or Andro Revolution Cor pips (but with narrower pips).

The 388B has smaller, but softer and gripper pips than 802-40, B1 or 889-2. This means they can create more spin on serves and pushes and makes it easier to flip with spin. Downside is that you have to adjust the blade angle more for incloming spin when receiving serve and blocking.
