This is not totally pip rubber related subject but I would prefer to hear from people who are using pips.
I just started using short pips for my bh. I'm using a fl handle blade. I saw a video of Ai Fukuhara playing and I think she is using a st handle blade.

I'm just wondering if blades with ST handle would be more suitable for pip player or does it not matter? I probably don't think it'll make that much of a difference,
but please let me know what you think.

Thanks.

IMO it shouldn't make any difference if you use FL or ST handle. You should use whatever you feel most comfortable with. Generally I think the difference is that it's harder to twiddle and change grip with FL handle.

Personally, I think it's down to your own preference and that can vary between each blade and manufacturer. I've used short pips with anatomical handled blades, straight and flared. What matters for me is how the blade feels in my hand and that can vary. My advice, - like auzcar has said and you yourself, use what feels right for you, which doesn't necessarily mean use what the pro's use.

Thanks. I will continue to play with the FL handle then. :)

I use a flare. Some people think its easier to twiddle with ST. I have no idea if this is the case, since I don't do that except occasionally when I serve with the SP side.

I think that a blade with Straight Handle is more appropriate for a defensive and flat hitting player; whereas, a blade with Flare Handle is better for a looper or topspin player. I am under the impression that most of the defensive players use a blade with Straight Handle.

all depends of your preference and style

usually when a sp player do long rallies top vs top with fh, or when you are in mid or long distance, is very posible that the opponent try to put some balls for your bh (the sp are not too effective at mid or long distance, far to the table with sp the more advisable is chop)

in my personal opinion: if you twiddle in this cases, i think that is better a st blade , but if in this case you chop with sp, i prefer fl

but how i said all depends of your preference
